ACK Lysing Buffer
Description
ACK Lysing Buffer is used for lysing red blood cells (RBCs) in samples containing white blood cells.
RBCs are permeable to ammonium chloride, which causes cellular swelling and eventual rupture of the cell membrane.
ACK = Ammonium-Chloride-Potassium
| Ammonium Chloride | 155mM |
| Potassium bicarbonate | 10mM |
| EDTA | 0.1mM |
Applications
ACK Lysing Buffer is used to lyse red blood cells in samples, such as EDTA-treated whole blood, buffy coats, and bone marrow. Commonly performed as part of processing samples for flow cytometry analysis.
