LB Agar Plates are used for the growth and maintenance of recombinant E. coli strains used in molecular microbiology procedures. Carbenicillin provides the same action as ampicillin but is more stable due to better heat and acidity tolerance.

The following variations of LB Agar Plates are nutritionally rich media designed for growth of pure cultures of recombinant strains. LB Agar plates are suitable for propagation of E. coli and other bacteriological stocks. Added antibiotic allows for the selection of those bacteria with antibiotic resistance.
