Tris HCl (1 M), pH 8.0
Description
Tris is a buffer component in molecular biology, tissue culture, and electrophoresis procedures. These solutions of Tris Hydrochloride and provide convenient and highly purified solutions.
Tris is compatible with many enzymes in molecular biology, for example DNA modifying enzymes, because its buffering range is between 7.1-8.9.
Applications
The lower pH 7.4 can be associated more with maintaining RNA, however, the pH 8.0 works equally as well with both DNA and RNA nucleic acids.
